2000 ICOTY Awards - Sports Car
Most Sex Appeal - Porsche Boxster S

ROAD & TRAVEL's 2000 Most Sex Appeal -- Porsche Boxster SPorsche. Even the word sounds sexy. We all fell in love with the Boxster when it was first introduced—especially the contemporary styling, which was such a departure from the 911. We loved the handling, the top-down experience, and we even liked the low-for-Porsche sticker price. What we wanted was more go, and with the new S, that’s what we got. Horsepower was bumped from 201 to 250, and torque shot up from 180 to 225.

Bigger brakes, the six-speed manual from the 911, and more sport tuning start the drool going as soon as the roadster comes into view. For a 2000 spotter’s guide, look for a center air intake outside in front and titanium colored trim pieces inside. They say that men are the real Porschephiles, but for women who understand what real power feels like, there is no other choice in a ragtop.
