EWP also recognizes environmental ingenuity with the Earth, Wind & Power Awards, which debuted January 10, 2009 at the 13th Annual International Car of the Year Awards in Detroit. These inaugural awards honored the most environmentally-friendly car and truck of the year. The mission of the awards is to honor vehicles that consume less energy by using greener power supplies, which help reduce global warming, promote a cleaner environment, and support the mission to achieve energy independence through alternative sources.
