McCLUGGAGE |
When
women sportswriters were rare, McCluggage was
on the staff of the New York Herald Tribune covering
primarily skiing and motor racing. She was known for
doing what she wrote about whether it was skiing, racing
or jumping our of airplanes (always with a parachute.)
She
was involved at the inception of Competition Press (now
AutoWeek) for which she is a columnist and senior-contributing

is the recipient of the Ken W. Purdy Award for Excellence
in Automotive Journalism, the Dean Bachelor Life Time
Achievement Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award
from the International Media Association. She is the

KEN
GROSS |
Gross
has been an automotive journalist for over 30 years.
He's the automotive editor for Playboy and Hemisphere
and is a frequent contributor to The Robb Report, automedia.com,
Automotive Industries, Street Rodder, Hop Up, Hemmings
Rods & Performance, and The Rodders' Journal. Ken
served as Executive Director of the Petersen Automotive
Museum in Los Angeles for five years. A Pebble Beach
Concours Judge for 14 years, he also judges at major
automotive events such as Amelia Island and Meadow Brook
Hall. He is the Chairman of the Meguiar's Award which
annually chooses the Person of the Year for the Collector
Car Hobby. A passionate hot rodder, Ken owns a much-modified
1932 Ford roadster and a 1939 Ford convertible coupe.

An
award-winning journalist, Job was the first female
national auto writer for The Associated Press and was
among the first women to cover the auto beat in Detroit
in the early 1980s. Ann won a United Press International
spot news reporting award for her coverage of General
Motors Corp.'s then-new Saturn auto company in 1985,
and she won the Ken W. Purdy Award in 1987 for excellence
in automotive journalism for her work on an investigative
series about sudden acceleration. She served as Consumer
Editor at Microsoft's MSN Carpoint web site and is currently
the AP's test driver of new vehicles.

Brown
has
been an automotive
columnist for The Washington Post since 1982. He writes
On Wheels (product review); Overdrive (washingtonpost.com
industry analysis); Real Wheels (washingtonpost.com
weekly auto chat); Warren Brown (industry commentary,
African-Americans on Wheels Magazine, carried by the
Post and other urban newspapers); and is an occasional
contributor to CNN.

Killeen became the editor for ROAD & TRAVEL
Magazine magazine in 1995. B.J. honed her road and track
skills on a nine-year ride with famed (or infamous)
Motor Trend Magazine, the classy, but made-for-man,
buff book on cars. Known as one of the most knowledgeable
women road test editors in America, readers can count
on honest and accurate information about any vehicle
she reviews. B.J. is also responsible for all Asian
import reviews for RTM.

McELROY |
McElroy,
of Blue Sky Productions, is an automotive journalist
and lecturer. His past experience includes Detroit Editor
for Road & Track and Editorial Director for Automotive
Industries. He has five daily radio reports on WWJ Newsradio
950 AM in Detroit and two weekly television programs
on Detroit Public TV. He serves on the board of the
Society of Automotive Analysts, and on the steering
committee of the North American Car and Truck of the
Year.

Mitchell
is the former editorial director of On Wheels, Inc.,
overseeing editorial content and production for African
Americans On Wheels magazine, www.onwheelsinc.com website
and The Driving Force On Wheels radio show. Mitchell
joined On Wheels, Inc. in 1995 as an independent writer.
Her journalism career spans several years and includes
stints at the Kalamazoo Gazette, Akron Beacon Journal
and Wall Street Journal. She currently serves on the
Automotive Press Association Board.

Somehow
Law
went from studying theatre arts in university to
traveling the world following the automotive business.
Along the way he wrote just about every type of story
there is to write and even had a mystery novel published
by St. Martin's Press in the mid-80s. Now he spends
250 days a year on the road "pursuing automotive truth
and beauty" on behalf of Automotive World magazine in
London, and as
a contributing editor for AutoWeek, Better Homes
and Gardens, Car and Driver, Popular Science, and the Toronto
Star Newspaper in Canada.

Jensen is a free-lance writer who specializes
in auto industry topics and whose articles have appeared
in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Better Homes

the Dakar Rally, often described as the world's toughest

Siler
is an automotive journalist and consultant born and
raised in Los Angeles. He is currently the national
online editor for ROAD & TRAVEL Magazine magazine.
A lifelong car enthusiast, Siler pursued automotive
design in his early college years until realizing that
his knowledge and passion for cars might best be served
as a writer. Siler is a decorated graduate of Loyola
Marymount University in Los Angeles, and has been a
staff member of RTM since 1995. Silers work also
has been found in Automobile Magazine Buyers Guides,
Consumer Review buyers guide publications, Hero
Magazine, CarsDirect.com, SpecialCar.com and several
West Coast newspapers.

Bob
Plunkett is a veteran automotive reporter
whose articles have appeared in industry and consumer
magazines for 25 years. He currently produces syndicated
automotive reports published weekly in more than 100
newspapers across America, putting the reader in the
driver's seat for a hands-on feel of a vehicle. An adventurer,
Plunkett has raced cars, scaled mountains, dived with
sharks and ran across entire countries to research his
articles. For the decade of the 1980s he reported on
automotive subjects for an Arkansas newspaper, and during
this time wrote speeches for a young Arkansas governor,
Bill Clinton. Today, Plunkett still writes from his
Arkansas home, but he travels extensively, crisscrossing
the globe to drive new cars.
