CBS Detroit to Televise RTM
2004 Top 10 “Car of the Year”
Awards

DETROIT, MI (December 8, 2003) - ROAD & TRAVEL Magazine magazine announced today that its 2004 Top 10 - Car of the Year 8th Annual Awards will be televised by CBS Detroit as a one-hour TV special, which will air on January 7, 2004 at 7 p.m.

The RTM awards, which will be presented on January 3, 2004 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel, honor the top automobiles for 2004 in ten categories. They range from Most Sex Appeal (sports car) to Most Athletic (pickup truck) to Most Respected (luxury) to Most Compatible (minivan).

“The emotionally compelling theme on which we present our awards represents the relationship consumers have with their cars,” says RTM editor-in-chief Courtney Caldwell. “It’s about how cars reflect our lifestyles and self-image, an attitude most consumers can identify with.”

“Being a part of this innovative and exciting event continues our commitment to bringing metro Detroit quality local programming,” said CBS and UPN Detroit Senior Vice President and General Manager Linda Danna. “The special on CBS Detroit will not only give our viewers a front-row seat at the awards presentation, but it will also spotlight the award winning cars and everything they represent.”

RTM will also present its first Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by General Motors Corporation, honoring veteran automotive journalist Denise McCluggage.

Sponsors include Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel, Bridgestone/Firestone Tires, General Motors, Dolby Laboratories, Ford Motor Company, American Honda Motor Company, ArvinMeritor Inc., BMW NA, GMAC Financial Services, Hyundai Motor America, Kia Motors America, Mercedes-Benz USA, NAWBO - Greater Detroit Chapter, Nissan North America, Inc., Subaru of America, Tower Automotive, Bose Corporation and Meguiar’s Inc.
