Announces Five New Jury Members
September 16, 2009 -- Earth, Wind & Power Media (EWP) announced today the addition of five new jury members to the EWP Award’s Jury, bringing the panel to 19 automotive editors and journalists from a variety of diverse and respected auto-motive and environmental-related media outlets.
EWP is pleased to welcome the following new members to the jury:
- James Bell, executive market analyst - Kelly Blue Book
- Joe Wiesenfelder, senior editor and lead reviewer - Cars.com
- Seth Fletcher, senior associate editor - Popular Science
- Steve Siler, west coast editor, Caranddriver.com; President, SilerRoad Productions
- G.R. Whale, automotive contributor for New Car Test Drive, Truck Trend
New members will join fourteen other nationally-renowned automotive editors and journalists on the EWP jury, who include Denise McCluggage, senior-contributing editor, Auto Week; Kevin Smith, editorial director, Edmunds.com; Rick Cotta, editor, Consumer Guide Automotive; Bob Plunkett, syndicated automotive columnist; Ann Job, auto writer, Associated Press; Dan Wiese, auto editor, St. Louis Post-Dispatch; Ken Gross, contributing editor, Robb Report and Playboy; Perry Stern, editor, MSN Autos; Howard Walker, automotive journalist, Palm Beach Illustrated; Kim Viano, lead auto editor, Yahoo! NEW EWP & ICOTY NOMINATION COMMITTEE ANNOUNCED
In addition to the new jury members, we are pleased to announce the formation of the EWP and ICOTY nomination committee, which includes Kevin Smith, editorial director, Edmunds.com; James Bell, executive market analyst for Kelly Blue Book; Rick Cotta, editor, Consumer Guide Automotive; Perry Stern, editor, MSN Autos; and Howard Walker, automotive journalist, Palm Beach Illustrated.
The five-member team will establish vehicle eligibility criteria, which jurors will use as a guideline when voting. The committee is also responsible for nominating eligible vehicles for the 2010 International Car and Truck of the Year (ICOTY), and the 2010 Earth, Wind & Power Awards – Most Environmentally Progressive Car and Truck of the Year. Voting ballots will then be sent to the entire jury for final voting. J.D. Power and Associates will tabulate final ballots. The four 2010 winners will be revealed in December 2009 during press week for the Los Angeles Auto Show. Additional details forthcoming soon.
