Best Pet-Friendly Hotels and Accommodations in the U.S.

A recent study on pet travel revealed surprising stats on American pet owners and highlighted the fact that 52 percent claimed to only stay at pet-friendly accommodations when traveling with their furry friend.

But when it comes right down to it, 48 percent of all travelers surveyed felt hotels should be more accommodating to their four-legged family. What do they want? Survey participants cited pet sitting services (27%), on-site kennels (16%) and pet bedding (9%) as their top desires.

Currently, the winner of most pet-friendly hotel chain is Best Western (surprised?), followed by Holiday Inn and Red Roof Inn. But when it comes to non-chain accommodations, including boutique hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts, the below choices beat out the rest.

1. TierraLinda Bed and Breakfast
Galena, Illinois (Average nightly rate: $135)

With pet-friendly rooms and designated dog-walking beach areas and parks, your canine will feel more than welcome in this upscale establishment. 4. Spruce Moose Lodge and Cottages

Kimball's room, located in the main lodge, has recently allowed pets, with a separate entrance from the porch.
