2009 Vehicle Model Guide

2009 CHRYSLER New Car & Truck Model Guide

ChryslerThe winged badge of Chrysler decorates the prow of a number of different types of vehicles. Chrysler's collection for 2009 includes stately sports touring sedans, plus a racy rendition, a drop-top convertible, big sport utility vehicle (SUV) and elegant minivans. Chrysler's newsmakers for 2009 include the Town & Country minivan with fresh safety features like Blind Spot Monitoring, and the Aspen Hybrid SUV, which uses a two-mode hybrid propulsion system to boost fuel efficiency.

2009 Chrysler 300300 Series
Chrysler's flagship sedans sport a new grille on the prow and a new 5.7-liter V8 engine for top trim 300C. This high-tech rendition of Chrysler's fabled HEMI engine produces 370 hp and features a multi-displacement system (MDS), which switches to fuel-saving four-cylinder mode when high power is not needed. 300 sedans stock V6 engines for other trims of LX, Touring and Limited. Also, Chrysler rigs 300 sedans for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) traction. AWD models gain Chrysler's Active Transfer Case and Front-axle Disconnect for seamless transitions between RWD and AWD.

2009 Chrysler 300C SRT-8300C SRT8
The initials of SRT — signifying "Street and Racing Technology" — mark high-performance vehicles for Chrysler. For 300C SRT8, that means a new 6.1-liter HEMI V8 pumping 425 hp. Special exterior modifications mark this one, like revamped front fascia with brake-cooling ducts and air dam or the rear decklid spoiler. Its suspension tunes for tight sport work and brakes score four-piston Brembo calipers. The cockpit contains special sport-bolstered bucket seats with suede inserts and power-adjustable pedals, plus an optional Kicker audio kit with 322-watt amp. Curtain-style air bags are available, plus 20-inch aluminum wheels.

2009 Chrysler SebringSebring
Chrysler's mid-size sedan under the Sebring name returns for 2009 with multiple models and powertrains. Top tier Sebring Limited AWD edition pulls 235 hp from a 3.5-liter V6 tied to a six-speed automatic with AutoStick plus standard electronic stability program (ESP) skid controls. Sebring LX the price-leader edition totes a 2.4-liter four-in-line with 173 hp through a four-speed automatic transaxle and fuel economy figures up to 30 mpg. The optional 186-hp 2.7-liter V6 flex-fuel (E85-compatible) engine earns 28 mpg. A new uconnect phone utilizing Bluetooth technology automatically downloads up to 1,000 phone book entries from supported phones.

2009 Chrysler Sebring ConvertibleSebring Convertible
The mid-size Sebring Convertible by Chrysler in a slick design offers choices for the power retractable roof — cloth or steel. Sebring as a drop-top splits into three versions — entry-model Sebring Convertible LX, the upscale Touring edition and a deluxe Limited — and each adds exterior trim elements and interior equipment for differentiation, as well as a different powertrain. The convertible's strongest powertrain goes to the deluxe Limited edition, which employs a single-cam 3.5-liter V6 worth 235 hp. Sebring's airy cabin sparks with stylish appointments, while clever concepts make life comfortable aboard.

2009 Chrysler Town & CountryTown & Country
Chrysler proves a minivan can be luxurious, agile and even powerful when it’s the Town & Country. The 2009 series includes three trims (LX, Touring, Limited) and three different three-row seat arrangements — a second-row bench with fold-in-the-floor third-row seat, inventive Stow 'n Go with second and third tier seats folding into stow bins in the floor, and the Swivel 'n Go plan with second-row seats rotating to face the rear bench and a collapsible table in place between the rows. New safety features include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path plus rain-sensing wipers.

2009 Chrylser AspenAspen
Chrysler's full-size SUV comes with three powertrain options and lots of gear in the cabin. Top engine is a new 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with MDS and output of 365 hp. The alternate V8 is a 4.7-liter plant producing 303 hp and offering an E85-compatible variation. New Aspen Hybrid brings a two-mode hybrid propulsion system with the HEMI MDS V8 and two electric traction motors to generate 385 hp and fuel economy scores reflecting a 40 percent improvement for city driving. There's only one trim designation — Limited — with full-time AWD.

2009 Chrysler PT CruiserPT Cruiser
Chrysler's five-door wagon divides into three versions for 2009 with two powertrain choices. Models include a base PT Cruiser LX, the Cruiser Touring and deluxe Limited. The first two draw from a twin-cam 2.4-liter in-line-four set at 150 hp with fuel economy scores up to 26 mpg for highway driving. The Limited pushes a turbo 2.4-liter four tuned to 180 hp. Cruiser's interior structure is tall, which accommodates seats that rise high like chairs and creates voluminous space with access through four wide and deep doors plus the flip-up rear gate.
